Dr. Joseph Eisenach is a board‑certified gastroenterologist dedicated to compassionate, comprehensive patient care. He was drawn to medicine through his passion for science and desire to serve others, finding deep fulfillment in the relationships he builds with patients and colleagues. He earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in 1982 and completed his internship and residency at the University of Nebraska Hospitals. He then completed a gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and went on to serve as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Eisenach has received an NIH training grant and a research award from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. A member of several leading medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Gastroenterological Association, he has also served as Medical Staff President at the Medical Center of Independence. Outside of medicine, he enjoys jogging, attending the theater, and sports.
