Dr. Samuel Schowengerdt is a board‑certified gastroenterologist dedicated to caring for patients with a wide range of digestive and chronic liver diseases. Born and raised in the Kansas City Northland, he earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin and served as Chief Resident at the William S. Middleton Memorial VA Hospital. He then completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Dr. Schowengerdt is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, with clinical interests that include colon cancer screening and hereditary gastrointestinal syndromes. He enjoys traveling to national parks, spending time with his wife and two young boys, building Legos with his children, and family movie nights.
